500 MILLION VND DONATED TO CONSTRUCT HOMES FOR UNDERPRIVILEGED FAMILIES IN REMOTE KRONG BONG DISTRICT
In the afternoon of June 30, the Krong Bong district government in Dak Lak province collaborated with Happy Home Fund and local benefactors from Hanoi to donate 500 million VND to assist 10 impoverished families in constructing permanent houses.
Among them is 90-year-old Ms. Le Thi Bay from Hoa Phong commune, who currently resides in a severely dilapidated temporary shelter. The fragile condition of her old house poses constant concern, particularly during storm seasons. Ms. Bay's children are also facing difficulties and are unable to provide adequate care for their mother.
The timely support from local authorities and benefactors to build a new home deeply touched Ms. Bay. "I am very grateful to the commune, district authorities, and benefactors. I am old and uncertain about how much longer I can live, but being cared for like this is truly heartwarming," she expressed.

In the past few years, Ms. Ai Duc's family in Village 2, Hoa Phong commune, Krong Bong district, including 5 people, had to go live because the family's temporary house collapsed a long time ago. Receiving support from the government and benefactors to build a solid house, Ms. Ai Duc was very happy and touched. For her family, the dream of a new house is gradually coming true.
Mr. Nguyen Minh Hiep - Chairman of Cu Pui commune (Krong Bong district) said that currently, the locality still has many households facing difficulties, the rate of poor and near-poor households is more than 61%. Through many national target programs along with social resources and charitable organizations, in the first 6 months of the year, the commune built 10 gratitude houses.
"Thanks to national target programs, provincial support programs and especially the participation of benefactors inside and outside the province, poor households have more resources to solidify their houses, helping women I live safer and more convenient" - Chairman of Cu Pui commune affirmed.
According to Mr. Do Quoc Huong - Secretary of Krong Bong district, due to geographical distance, barren land and backward farming practices, the district's economy is still slow to develop, the poverty rate in the district is more than 50%. The people here are mainly ethnic minorities. The issue of improving people's lives is an important task, in which, building housing for poor households is essential to help people stabilize their lives and feel secure in production.
Mr. Do Quoc Huong - Secretary of Krong Bong district shared about the local socio-economic development situation.
"Every year, the district regularly mobilizes many resources, especially taking advantage of support from sponsors to help difficult families solidify their houses. Each year, the district builds about 100 gratitude houses to help speed up the progress of building houses to escape poverty for people" - Secretary of Krong Bong district said.
Directly giving support money to families in difficult circumstances, Associate Professor. Dr. Nguyen Thi To Quyen - Chairman of the Board of Management - Executive Director of the Happy Home Fund (Hanoi) shared: "We came to the remote district of Krong Bong because people here still face many difficulties. The Fund wishes to spread charitable actions to all donors with the desire to "leave no one behind" and join hands to help people in difficult circumstances stabilize their lives.
Thanks to government support, Happy Home Fund and social initiatives, impoverished households now have greater resources to fortify their homes, ensuring safer and more convenient living conditions.

"In the future, we will persist in constructing charitable housing, aiding individuals and families facing hardship, those who have contributed to the revolution, elderly persons living alone, and orphans, as well as supporting patients with severe illnesses. Our aim is to assist many disadvantaged individuals in improving their lives," added Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Thi To Quyen.
Joining a volunteer group supporting impoverished families in remote Krong Bong district, Mr. Vu Van Luyen from Northern Central Highlands Mineral Investment Joint Stock Company emphasized that corporate social responsibility includes ensuring social security. The company continues to assess various communes and districts to devise plans for supporting individuals in challenging circumstances.
