A charity fund is a concept often encountered in various places. However, not everyone deeply understands what it truly means.

What is a Charity Fund?

According to Article 2 of Decree No. 93/2019/ND-CP:
"Article 4. Definitions In this Decree, the terms below are understood as follows:
1. Fund: A non-governmental organization created by individuals or organizations who voluntarily contribute a certain portion of assets to establish or form through wills, donations, or gifts of assets, with the purpose of organizing and operating as prescribed in Article 3 of this Decree, and recognized by the competent state authorities with a license and charter. [...]


3. Charity Fund: A fund organized and operated with the purpose of supporting the remediation of incidents caused by natural disasters, fires, epidemics, accidents, and other disadvantaged, vulnerable groups requiring social assistance, not for profit objectives."

Which are the Best Charity Funds Today?

Today, many charity funds have emerged, all aiming to assist and support those in difficult circumstances to improve their lives and stabilize them to some extent. When mentioning charity organizations, the following are noteworthy:

Happy Home Fund

The Happy Home Fund was established on November 22, 2019, by Decision No. 1032/QD-BNV of the Ministry of Home Affairs. The organization fulfills its mission "Joining Hands to Connect – Sharing Love" through volunteer activities with the goal of spreading love to those facing hardships in society.

The Happy Home Charity Fund is a non- profit organization, focusing on supporting and encouraging the spirit of charity and humanitarian efforts through various activities. These include building charity houses, aiding individuals and families in difficulties, families with revolutionary merits; elderly people living alone ; orphaned children; boarding students in remote areas; supporting students with difficult circumstances to excel in their studies; aiding patients with serious illnesses; and helping communities recover from natural disasters, floods, and other legally compliant charitable purposes.

Vietnam Child Sponsorship Fund 

The Vietnam Child Sponsorship Fund is a charity for children established on May 4, 1992. It is the state's unique fund aimed at achieving the government's objectives for children. The Vietnam Child Sponsorship Fund is known for its multi-faceted support: supporting the right to live, develop, be protected, and participate.

SOS Children's Villages Vietnam

Well-known philanthropists are familiar with SOS Children's Villages. This charity for children was founded in 1987 with the noble goal of providing orphaned, abandoned children with a complete family environment. The children are raised with love, respect, and security. Having been active for 35 years, SOS Children's Villages are present in 17 provinces across the country to fulfill its humanitarian mission.

UPS Charity Fund

The UPS Charity Fund was established in 1951. It was created to support global communities through in-kind and cash donations. Throughout its years of operation in the logistics sector, the UPS Charity Fund has conducted many humanitarian activities such as building charity houses, organizing non-profit classes, vocational training, and providing free healthcare for those in difficult situations.

International Charity Organization for the Disabled (Handicap International)

The International Charity Organization for the Disabled is an independent international aid charity founded with the goal of alleviating poverty and standing with disabled individuals. Its mission is to help disabled individuals integrate into community life and improve their current living conditions. To date, the International Charity Organization for the Disabled in Vietnam has been active for 22 years, having implemented 36 projects in 9 disability sectors and 11 areas of stable development in the country.
