The Covid-19 pandemic, which has been complex and ongoing, has exacerbated the challenges faced by many families, particularly in financial terms, but also in more profound ways. One of the most heart-wrenching consequences has been the increased number of children orphaned either by the loss of one or both parents.

Understanding the gravity of this situation, the Happy Home Fund organized the program "Granting financial support to orphaned children affected by Covid-19 in the provinces of the Mekong Delta" to spread a meaningful message and help these children regain hope for a brighter tomorrow.

This initiative by the Happy Home Fund began on March 11, 2022, and concluded on March 15, 2022. Activities to distribute financial support took place across various locations in the Central Highlands and Southern regions, including the provinces of Dak Lak, Tay Ninh, Vinh Long, Can Tho, Hau Giang, Bac Lieu, Soc Trang, Tra Vinh, and Ben Tre. Representatives from the Happy Home Fund and the Thien Tam Foundation, part of the Vingroup conglomerate, visited the People's Committees of districts and cities in these provinces to personally deliver financial support to the children.

To ensure the successful implementation and widespread dissemination of the message "Join hands, connect, and share love" across the provinces, this series of activities involved the Happy Home Fund, collaboration with the Thien Tam Foundation, and the active participation of local volunteers. This close cooperation ensured that the activities ran smoothly in a warm and happy atmosphere, despite the ongoing pandemic challenges.

During the activity period, the Happy Home Fund personally handed out 229 financial support grants to orphaned children affected by Covid-19 across the provinces. Each grant amounted to 5,000,000 VND in cash, totaling 1,145,000,000 VND (One billion one hundred forty-five million Vietnamese dong). The children who received support varied in age; some were carried in the arms of caregivers, while others bravely accepted their support with the consolation of Foundation officials, Thien Tam Foundation members, and local officials, acknowledging the immense loss they've faced at such a young age.

To comfort the children and create a sense of closeness as a family, ensuring they do not feel lonely on their journey ahead, officials, volunteers from the Happy Home Fund, Thien Tam Foundation, and local authorities engaged in heartfelt conversations with the children. Their singular desire was to assure the children that countless caring hearts are focused on them, preventing them from feeling abandoned or lost in society, despite being orphaned by the loss of one or both parents.

Due to the ongoing tense situation of the pandemic, ensuring the health and safety of the children receiving the grants, as well as the Happy Home Fund officials, local officials, and volunteers, was paramount. Therefore, the distribution of financial support strictly adhered to the 5K principles to ensure it did not compromise anyone's health during the gift-giving sessions.

Through this deeply humane initiative, the Happy Home Fund, Thien Tam Foundation, officials, and local residents receiving the generous gifts all felt the warmth within their hearts. This embodies the beautiful values that the Happy Home Fund aims to uphold. All of us involved in the Happy Home Fund hope that through this initiative, these children will feel a sense of comfort within themselves.
