POPULAR CHARITY ACTIVITIES IN VIETNAM
Charitable activities bring immense value to the community. Most of these activities are regularly organized and maintained by a charity group or foundation. Established in 2019, the Happy Shelter Foundation has since carried out many philanthropic efforts that have significantly impacted the community and society.
Popular Charitable Activities in Vietnam
Following the old saying "Love others as yourself," Vietnam is home to many charitable endeavors. Some of the most common activities include:
Charity Donations
Donating is one of the most popular forms of charity in Vietnam. There are various ways to donate, including money or in-kind contributions. Some charity funds call for monetary donations, while others encourage benefactors to contribute clothes or used items.
Donation activities are often organized by a charity group or foundation. Each organization has its own set of rules regarding how and when donations are collected and what the contributions will be used for. The Happy Shelter Foundation, for example, receives donations from benefactors all over to carry out meaningful activities for those in need.
Recently, with the support and contributions from benefactors, the Happy Shelter Foundation has carried out significant initiatives such as delivering 300 gift packages to students struggling due to the COVID-19 pandemic and providing financial aid for children orphaned by the pandemic in the Central Highlands and Southern provinces—totaling over VND 1,145,000,000.
These efforts showcase the dedication of charity organizations and foundations in Vietnam as they continue their mission.
Charity Meal Programs Across the Nation
Another form of charity well-supported by the community is the charitable meal program. These establishments offer free or very low-cost meals (ranging from VND 1,000 to VND 5,000) for those in need, such as orphans, street vendors, or the elderly without family support.
Initially, these programs were mainly in Ho Chi Minh City. However, the spirit of "those with more help those with less" has spread to other cities like Can Tho and Da Nang, aiming to assist people in remote areas facing hardships. This initiative is precious as it has provided comfort and support to many disadvantaged lives.

Free Medical Care – Charitable Activities Offering Significant Value
Another annually maintained and widely supported charity effort is free medical care. This initiative provides assistance to those who cannot afford medical treatment, helping the poor and offering better healthcare to those in need, especially in life-threatening situations.
It’s clear that charitable activities in Vietnam are growing and delivering great benefits to society. To help support those in difficult situations, you can join a charity organization or foundation. Charity is about giving, no matter how much or little, new or old. If you share the spirit of "Joining hands, sharing love"—the motto of the Happy Shelter Foundation—your contribution will be immensely valuable in today’s society.
